Straighten Your Smile Beautifully

Dr. Robert

Do you want a straighter smile, but hate the idea of unsightly brackets and adolescent-looking wires? For a more adult take on orthodontic care, consider the Invisalign system, which uses a series of clear retainers to gently straighten teeth. Patients switch to a new set of retainers every two weeks, with full orthodontic treatment being completed in a few months to a year. Invisalign retainers are completely clear and cover the entire visible surface of your teeth, allowing you to smile confidently all throughout your orthodontic treatment.

Benefits of Invisalign

When it comes to oral health, having straight teeth is crucial. Crooked teeth are harder to brush and floss properly, which can leave you with yellow teeth, hidden cavities, exposed dental roots, and even gingivitis and periodontal disease. To prevent these kinds of issues, Dr. Brewer might recommend orthodontic treatment, such as Invisalign in upper Arlington. Here are a few of its benefits.

The Invisalign Process

Before Dr. Brewer starts the orthodontic treatment process, he will carefully evaluate the health and condition of your teeth. Some patients with severe crowding or oral decay may need extractions or dental treatments prior to starting Invisalign.

During the initial stages of Invisalign treatment, Dr. Brewer will also talk with you about your cosmetic dentistry goals, the duration of treatment, and any questions you may have. By taking a 3D image of your teeth and using a powerful computer program, Dr. Brewer can even give you a “smile preview” of what Invisalign can do for you. These images will also be used to help dental technicians create your series of aligners.

When your aligners are ready, you will be asked to come back into the office for an initial fitting and instructions. Aligners can be snapped into place and removed by the patient, and they need to be worn 20-22 hours a day. However, this means that aligners can be removed for things like eating, drinking, and special occasions. You will change to a new aligner every one to two weeks, depending on your personalized treatment plan.
