What does a Restorative Dentist Do?
Sometimes, restoring health to a tooth can be as simple as filling a cavity, or repairing a broken tooth. Other times it involves replacing a tooth or multiple teeth. Restorative dentistry begins with a diagnostic appointment, where we will determine a course of treatment to restore health and function to the smile Treatment might include the following:
Fillings: If you have a small area of decay, fillings are usually the best course of action. After removing the decay, your affected tooth is filled with gold, silver, amalgam, or composite (tooth-colored) material.
Crowns: If your tooth has too much decay for a filling to be utilized, Dr. Brewer may recommend a crown. Crowns can restore your teeth to their natural strength, shape and size.
Implants: Are you missing a tooth? Dental implants are a highly-effective, two-step process used to achieve the complete replacement of a missing tooth. Dental implants can last a lifetime!
Bridges: Not a candidate for dental implants? If there are healthy teeth surrounding your missing tooth, a bridge can be used to “replace” it and improving your smile and your ability to eat!
Dentures: If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, dentures can replace your missing teeth, improve your appearance and restore your oral health.
Gum Disease Treatment: Swollen gums? Or have you experienced pain and redness around your teeth? Dr. Brewer can help assist in making your gums healthy again
During your appointment Dr. Brewer and our team will go over treatment options, costs, and a timeline for treatment to help you make the best decision for your smile.
When Should You Consider Restorative Care?
The sooner we can identify a problem, the sooner we can help. This includes ensuring you visit Dr. Brewer for your semi-annual checkup. We can identify potential problems, like cavities, before they become painful and possibly require expensive treatment. Of course accidents happen too! Maybe you cracked a tooth while eating or had a tooth knocked out while taking an elbow playing basketball. Don’t worry, we can help!
Whether through disease or injury, if you need to return health and function to your teeth, we provide restorative dentistry to rehabilitate the structures of your teeth and restore the beauty of a healthy smile.

Cavities: A filling helps prevent the cavity from growing or even spreading to other teeth. An untreated cavity can create bigger problems in the mouth, and should be addressed as soon as it is detected.
Cracked & Broken Teeth: When dealing with cracked and broken teeth a crown is the most popular treatment option. In these cases, a filling or inlay is no longer sufficient to prevent further damage or pain when biting down. We offer CEREC crowns, which can be placed in one easy visit.
Missing Teeth: When replacing missing teeth, we explore several options. These options will depend on the strength and health of the surrounding affected area, the health of your other teeth and gums, your lifestyle & habits as well as the number of missing teeth. Options may include dental implants, bridges, and dentures.
